Giving Tuesday Special Edition!

It’s that time of year again, when we take a moment to step back from the flurry of shopping and ordering online, and think about the beginning of the “giving season”. You, like so many others, might want to stay more local this year, strengthening our community. A donation to the Slocan Valley Legacy Fund stays local AND is a gift that keeps on giving, year after year in the form of grants to local organizations and projects. Giving Tuesday 2025 is on December 2, and we are inviting you to make a gift to the Slocan Valley Legacy Fund to celebrate. This year we are especially excited because we are SO CLOSE to reaching our goal of having ½ million dollars in our fund. We only need another $10,000 to make it!

Since 2013, the Slocan Valley Legacy Fund has awarded over $163,000 in grants to more than 40 local organizations — groups working to protect our environment, foster social connections, and build a healthy future for everyone in our community. Your gift today will help grow our permanent endowment, creating a source of funding that supports these efforts year after year. It’s a gift that truly keeps giving — strengthening the Slocan Valley now and for generations to come.

Here’s how you can give:

  • Online: Visit www.slocanvalleylegacy.com to donate by credit card or e-transfer.

  • Consider becoming a monthly donor this year! It’s easy and even a small amount makes a big difference over time. Details can be found on our website.

  • By Mail: Send a cheque payable to Osprey Community Foundation (note “Slocan Valley Legacy Fund” in the memo line) to Slocan Valley Legacy Fund at Box 363, Slocan, BC, V0G 2C0

All donations of $20 or more receive a charitable tax receipt.

Thanks and Happy Holidays from the SVCLS.
